Was your card payment declined or blocked? Here's what to check
💳 Card payment refused or blocked? Here's what to check
This guide is designed to help you resolve credit card payment issues: declined transactions, unrecognized address fields, or payments blocked mid-process.
⠀
💳 Step 1: Check card type
Ensure your card is authorized for online payments. We recommend a credit card or a Debit card activated for online purchases. Prepaid or non-e-commerce activated cards may be declined.
⠀
🔢 Step 2: Verify entered information
Check that each field matches exactly to what is on your card:
- The card number
- The holder's name as it appears on the map
- The Expiration date
- The CVV code (3 digits on the back)
⚠️ If you are using autofill, Clear the fields and enter the information manually Autofill can insert malformed or incorrect data.
⠀
📍 Step 3: Fill in the address field accurately
The address field is one of the most frequent causes of a declined payment. Check the following:
- Before entering your address, click on the flag icon and select your country — this activates the correct field format.
- Check that there isn't no leading or trailing whitespace address field — a copy-paste can introduce invisible spaces.
- If you used autofill for the address, Erase and retype it manually.
- If your address contains a Apartment, floor, or building number, try to remove it and keep only the main line — some verification systems do not recognize multi-line addresses.
For example, if you live in the:
- ❌ Apt 5 – 12 Paix Street, Paris 75001
- ✅ Try: 12 rue de la Paix, Paris 75001
⠀
🔒 Step 4: Disable VPN
If you use a VPN, Temporarily disable it before proceeding with the payment. A VPN can change your apparent location and trigger an automatic transaction block.
⠀
🖥️ Step 5: Switch browsers or use private mode
Browser extensions can interfere with the payment form.
- Try it Private browsing mode / incognito
- Or try from a another browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge…)
