🎬 Resolve black screen or playback failure on catch-up channels - ZenithTV

If the Catch-up do not start up properly, or if you have trouble sound but a black screen, You can adjust the video decoder in the ZenithTV application settings. This tutorial is intended only for users of the official Zenith TV application.

🛠️ Step 1 - Open playback parameters

  1. Open the ZenithTV
  2. Click on the gearwheel (⚙️) to access settings
  3. Go to Playback parameters

🎥 Step 2 - Changing the video decoder

  • If Software decoder is not selected, check Software decoder and confirm.
  • If Software decoder is already selected, try the’other decoder mode available (e.g. the default or hardware/Hardware option).

The aim is to test another decoder mode until you find one where the catch-up channels are displayed correctly.

📺 Step 3 - Return to catch-up and try again

  1. Return to the ZenithTV
  2. Go to the Catch-up
  3. Rerun the same program or another to test

🔄 Step 4 - Restart the application if the problem persists

  • Close the application completely ZenithTV (not just going back)
  • Restart the application and test the catch-up again

💡 To remember

In most cases, changing video decoders in the playback settings solves the problem of catching up with sound but black screen.
